Forensic Science

With today’s popular television programs about criminal justice and crime scene investigation and the surge of detective movies and books, students often have a passion for exploring forensic science.  In this course, students will combine math, chemistry, biology, physics, and earth science as they learn about the techniques used in forensic science. This class will balance extensive scientific concepts with hands-on classroom and lab activities, intriguing case studies, and careers in forensics.

Homework: Reading assignments and occasional research that will take about 3 hours per week.

Materials needed: Fundamentals and Investigations (2012 update 1st edition) by Anthony J. Bertino (ISBN: 978-0538731553).  The eBook version is acceptable and available on Amazon.
