Book Club with Public Speaking - Middle School

Book Club will provide a way for students to engage in critical thinking and reflection as they read, discuss, and respond to books. Besides digging into the literature and learning to deeply discuss the books, students will learn to assume and practice various roles during the book club discussion.  This class will also have a public speaking component in that the students will receive instruction in basic presentation skills. They will be given the opportunity several times per semester to practice those skills by preparing and presenting a book project or book review in front of their classmates.
