Description:  This class will cover the basics of understanding food and nutrition. The students will learn how to make informed choices about the foods they eat and their relationship to personal health. Class will cover evidence based nutrition following current guidelines for healthy eating and longevity. Core concepts to be reviewed and discussed include: Energy Nutrients and Energy Balance, Vitamins and Minerals, Functional Foods, Nutritional Supplements, Fad Diets, Fitness and Sports, Obesity and Eating Disorders.

Description:  Young scientists will study the fascinating world of chemistry and physics. We will start exploring the properties of matter and the basic building blocks of life (atoms and molecules). Students will be introduced to physics concepts such as the laws of motion and thermodynamics. We wll take a thorough look at energy in its many forms and continue our studies with electricity and magnetism. The study of simple machines will round out our year. The activities, experiments and projects are sure to delight and inspire students in the acquisition of foundational knowledge about their world and it's Master Designer.

Materials Needed: Exploring Creation with Chemistry and Physics Student Text and Student Notebook (available at HER Store). Students will also need colored pencils, and medium glue dots (which can be found in the scrapbook supplies at Hobby Lobby or Walmart).

Description:  Let’s explore God’s majestic and amazing universe with our friends! We will immerse ourselves this year in the study of Astronomy. Each planet was designed by God uniquely. We will study and learn in detail about the planets individually. The sun, moon, asteroids, comets, galaxies, as well as space travel will also be studied. Many hands-on projects and experiments will be performed benefiting your student immensely. We will build the volcano “Olympus Mons” on Mars; create a scale model solar system; observe and document the phases of the moon; make a constellation planetarium; and blast off the Centaur rocket. Remember Exodus 13:21: “By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way.” We’ll make clouds too! See you in class!
